On Sunday, pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Gregory Clifford, appeared on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper to talk about her alleged 2006 affair with Donald Trump.

Why now?

Daniels claims she wants to set the record straight and highlight threats made towards her after speaking about her affair with Trump saying ‘It was very important to me to be able to defend myself.’

Back on January 12, The Wall Street Journal reported that personal lawyer to Donald Trump Michael Dean Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 ‘hush money’ in October 2016, just before the Presidential election, to deny the alleged affair with Trump in 2006. Cohen denied the affair but mysteriously admitted paying Daniels $130,000 of his own money.

On March 6, 2018, Daniels filed a lawsuit against Trump claiming the non-disclosure agreement to be invalid and also claiming that intimidation tactics had been extensively used against her.

Trump continues to deny the affair and his lawyers claim Daniels has to pay $1 million every time she violates the supposedly invalid non-disclosure agreement.

When Bill Clinton admitted to his extramarital affair with Monica Lewinsky in 1998 he was almost impeached, the scandal was on the front page of most newspapers throughout the world, and the phrase ‘I did not have sexual relations with that woman’ became famous.

Donald Trump remains safe in his tower, untouched by yet another revelation of his true character. Grabbing pussies, banning Muslims, building walls, condoning white supremacists to name but a few, have all come before this to make us dangerously numb to the child-presidents behavior.

This is not a shock, nothing will happen to Trump and there will be a new one next month. It is hopelessly farcical, however, in a tweet on Monday, which is Trump’s only current response to Daniels interview, America ‘is doing great’. Nothing to worry about then. ‘Til next time Trump.
